Dear Visitor and Participant! We very much welcome you to Viking Agility Week 2009 (VAW09) at HOVE LEIR on Tromøya outside Arendal, Norway from 12‐18 July 2009. Approximately 320 dogs have been entered into the classes every day, and this amounts to more than 7000 runs altogether for the whole week. 12 judges will be active during the week – most of them from European countries, and each day a staff of 30‐40 persons will do their best to help you in any way.
We hope to give you an unforgettable stay in Norway during VAW09!

MEALS / FOOD AT HOVE LEIR Side 2 av 3 Viking Agility Week 09, 12 – 18 July 2009, Hove on Tromøya outside Arendal Page 2 of 3 During our Week, the restaurant at Hove is regrettably closed. We can, however, offer you light hot and cold items from our Kiosk at ringside. Opening hours here will be from 09:00 until the end of each day’s prizegiving ceremony. NOTE: Norwegian cash (NOK) only!
WALKING THE DOGS Tromøya is a unique island in many ways, both in flora and fauna, and offers many good walks for both 2‐ and 4‐legged animals as well as bathing in the sea. Please respect regulations and the “normal” public. Always carry some dogbags in your pockets!! OBS – NB: Please be warned that the South Coast of Norway is known to have quite a lot of tics, so you should prepare your dog (and yourself) for this before arriving.
THE COMPETITION We will NOT have any form of program or catalogue for sale. Time schedules and Starting lists will, however, be available from early morning every day, giving the starting order for all classes. The first class is open for course walking at 0900 each day except Monday, which
will start at 08:00. All classes will start consecutive after each other with course walking time. Any time table will therefore only give approximately starting times. Due to the Norwegian Kennel Club’s regulations, you will have different start‐numbers for each class every day. Should your runs create time‐crash in the different rings, please contact the Usher/s in the ring/s where you want to change you starting order. The Agility ring will have priority 1 (i.e. NO changes in the starting order), the Jumping ring has priority 2 and the Open ring priority 3. Please report to the Ushers of each ring at your earliest chance, and keep your start‐number label clearly visible! There will be a lunch‐break in each ring every day between 13:00‐14:00, to give the judges a chance to have some food and rest. This will also help us to catch up in time if necessary if any of the rings are running late according to the time schedule. More info concerning the competition can be seen at www.vaw09.net
